Super-LumiNova®
Super-LumiNova® (SLN) is a phosphorescent material. The SLN type BG W9 used by Certina emits the stored light as a bluish glow in the dark. SLN is harmless to health and is used to coat hands, indexes and bezels. Its luminosity diminishes after a while in the dark, but is automatically recharged by light.

Certina watches are known for their precision, reliability and sporty character. In its 130 years of existence, the sports watch brand has built up a solid international reputation for the highest Swiss quality workmanship.
PHILOSOPHY
Certina is serious about sportiness. The brand associates it with far more than just the uncompromisingly good looks of its timepieces - at Certina, sportiness is a question of quality and DNA.
DS CONCEPT
The DS concept has stood for maximum durability since 1959. For more than 60 years, we have been striving to produce timepieces that can withstand all of life's challenges. Over the years, the concept of double security has been continuously adapted to the latest technical standards.
COSC
The renowned Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (“Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres”, COSC for short) was founded in 1973 and is based in La Chaux-de-Fonds. It is a non-profit, independent institution that has dedicated its work to the art of Swiss watchmaking. Its strict criteria are regarded as the benchmark for assessing the precision of modern wristwatches - whether with a mechanical caliber or quartz movement.
